Blog 5: My Future Job

As a Biochemistry, my future job can be anything... that is not related with my career, because there is not enough employs for all. I´m just kidding. In this area, is really common the investigation with money from the government, and as you know, there is not so much money for science, so if you want to investigate something, you have to almost kill someone. If you are just starting, it will be really hard, because if you don´t have any poster, paper or a serious research, you will be on the bottom of the list, and if you are there, you don´t get any money to make a poster, a paper or a serious research. To me it is a little bit harder to understand. I don´t want to get in that circle, so I´m going to specialize in education. Not only in the school, to all the people who want to know something about science. Right now, I´m doing tutoring on physics for students that are just finishing the school or people that took a year to think about what they want to do with their lifes. ...

Blog 4: Ideal World

An ideal world it is an idea that i work every day to make it real. I know that this is impossible, but I think is worth to at least try it. To me, an ideal world is equal for everyone, where you have the same resources to do whatever you want, and the only thing that could stop you is the personal space and wellness of another person. If I go to the political side, socialism is the closest to the ideal world, but even so is lacking of many important topics, specially nowadays, in the twenty first century. Another idea that I have about this, is the education. It has to be free and inclusive, without conditions and since kinder garden. It has to be independent of any institution, so you don’t have problems with big industries. I think that it has to have a scientific focus, not only from the natural or exact sciences, because the social sciences are as important as the others. The scientific focus has to be interactive and close to the people, because if you are talking abo...

Blog 3: My favourite music artist

Choosing one artist as your favourite is really hard (i think) for almost everyone. Personally, I really like rock music, but today i will talk about a Chilean band called Quilapayun. They are one of the most important folk music group of this country. They had an important participation in the government of Salvador Allende, in 1970. After the military coup, in 1973, while they were in a tour in France, Quilapayun was forced to the exile. They were back in Chile in 1988 to support the opposition. Probably almost everyone I've listened a song of Quilapayun. The most famous is “La muralla”, but the most iconic, “El pueblo unido jamas serĂ¡ vencido” is the best song I've ever heard. It is a little bit hard to listen to this guys, specially if you are not agree with they political thinking, but even if this is the case, you cannot forget the musical value that Quilapayun have. To me, the best work of them is the “Cantata Santa Maria de Iquique”, in honor to the 3000 mi...
